RFD probes weekend house fires

An old saying declares fires come in threes, but Chief Joe Mansell has never dealt with three fires in the same weekend at the same house.

Investigation is ongoing into a series of incidents at a house in Russellville where the Russellville Fire Department responded three times in as many days to reports of fire – Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Sunday morning.

Little information is available as Fire Marshal Justin Green continues to determine the exact cause of the fires, aided by state investigators this week.

“The homeowners need to know what’s going on,” Mansell said. He thanked his officers for their efficient, thorough and tireless work to attack these fires.
