Charles Edward Montgomery

Charles Edward Montgomery, 75, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield. He was born in Itawamba County, Miss. to George Hale Montgomery and Eva Jarrels Montgomery. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Co. after thirty-five years. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the Mississippi National Guard.

Services were held Saturday, Dec. 12, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Mitch Nethery officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay.

Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Andrea Montgomery, Red Bay; daughter, Angela Riddle and husband, Kevin Red Bay; sister-in-law, Deborah “Bea” Holt, Columbus, Miss.; brother-in-law, Tim Holt, Red Bay; niece, Brenda Strickland and husband, Dudley Fulton, Miss.; nephew, Rodney Forrest and wife, Allison Fulton, Miss.; two great-nieces, Anna Searcy and husband, Anthony and Maddie Forrest; two great-nephews, Andy Strickland and Zack Forrest; one great-great-nephew, Miller Searcy and a host of cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva Montgomery and a sister, Dorothy Forrest.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Forrest, Dudley Strickland, Andy Strickland, Anthony Searcy, Milton Gaddis and Michael Creekmore. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends from the coffee shop.

Visitation was Saturday, Dec. 12, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
