Vester Oneal “Ves” Bishop

Vester Oneal “Ves” Bishop, 85, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Franklin County to William Simpson Bishop and Shellie Bell Bullock Bishop. He was retired from Boeing in Pennsylvania where he was a line mechanic. He was a member of Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church.

Services were held Sunday, Oct. 25, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay. Burial will be in Berry Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are two sons: Neal Bishop and wife, Joan Cochranville, Pa. and Joseph Peter Bishop and wife, Diana Lancaster, Pa.; one daughter, Emily Marie Sill and husband, Fred Vina; one brother, Bobby Matthew Bishop; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Modena Newton Bishop, his parents, his son, Spencer Bishop and wife, Elaine, one brother, Estes Bishop, two sisters, Ruth Newton and Susie Coggins, a grandson, Daniel Dodds and a granddaughter, Jennifer Bishop.

Visitation was Sunday, Oct. 25, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
