Chester Cleveland Humphres
Chester Cleveland Humphres, 92, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at his home. He was born in Vina to Cleve and Nettie Humphres. He was retired from American Motors and attended Antioch Free Will Baptist Church and Hurricane Creek Missionary Baptist.
Services were Monday, Sept. 28, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Robbins and Bro. Bobby Massey officiating. Burial was in Pilot Hill Cemetery, Vina.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Eloise Humphres of Vina; one daughter, Ann Green and husband, Clarence of Vina; two sisters: Esterene Blackburn of Vina and Imogene McClain of Birmingham; three grandchildren: Deana Vallejo and Kathy Moomaw both of Vina and Bobby Joe Green Sr. and wife Bev of Cordova, IL; nine great grandchildren: Kyle Green, Ali Green, Talon Vallejo, Bobby Joe Green Jr., Dalton James Green, Ashley Moomaw, Chana Vallejo, Chase Hunter Green and Braden Cole Moomaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers were Kyle Green, Bobby Joe Green Jr., Dalton James Green, Chase Hunter Green, Talon Vallejo, Braden Moomaw and Michael Moomaw. Honorary pallbearers will be R.B. Barnes and Kenneth Watts.
Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 27, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
