Esther Lee Odom Porter

Esther Lee Odom Porter, age 90, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 at Florence Nursing Home & Rehab Center.

The visitation was Sept. 26, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following. Officiating was Bro. Daniel Welborn and Bro. Mike Stancil. Burial was at Spruce Pine Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons: Wayne Porter and wife, Leslie, Jim Porter and wife, Kimberly; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Odom and wife, Carolyn; sister, Jean Smith; and a host of nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Porter; parents, James Odom, Kittie Odom McCollum; sisters, Geneva Dunn, Vernell Smith, Frances Pounders; and brothers, L.C. Odom and J.B. Odom.

The pallbearers were Ronald Odom, Gary Odom, Joey Wingo, Troy Mather, Hugh Smith, and Bob Shook.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Florence Nursing Home & Rehab Center. The family also wants to offer a very special, special thanks to fellow patient and friend, Bertha Gray, for being so good to our mother and sister.
