Golf scramble to benefit local church

Hope Baptist Church will be hosting a four-man scramble golf tournament at Twin Pines Country Club in Russellville Sept. 11 beginning at 1 p.m.

“We are growing and have actually outgrown our current building,” said Jason Swinney, organizer of the tournament. “A man in the community has donated two acres of land for us to build a new church, so we’re doing several fundraisers to help offset some of the cost. Hopefully this will be a successful event.”

The entry fee is $200 per team. Lunch will be served before the tournament begins. Door prizes will be given away. Awards will be given for first, second and third place finishers.
