John Douglas Dempsey

 John Douglas Dempsey, 69, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Franklin County, Al. and was a graduate of Belgreen High School. He was retired from Ford Motor Co.

Services were held Sunday, August 30, at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, RedBay, Al. with Bro. Mitch Netherly officiating. Burial was in Dempsey Cemetery, Russellville, Al. Deaton Funeral Home, RedBay, Al. was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are one daughter – Kelly Bagwell; one sister – Sandra Beasley (Joe) RedBay, Al.; three nieces – Angela Boyd (Sonny), Melissa Beasley and Cindy Guy (Herschell) and a host of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Dempsey and Opal LeMay Dempsey and a nephew, Kevin Thomas Beasley.

Pallbearers were Thomas Alexander Beasley, Cody Dill, Chase White, Brett White, Sonny Boyd, Herschell Guy and Brad Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers were Dony McKinney, Neal Hargett, Frankie Collum and Richard Wilson.

Visitation was Sunday, August 30, 2-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, RedBay, Al.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dempsey Cemetery Fund, c/o Krista Madden, Treasurer, 1595 Hwy. 21, Russellville, Al. 35653.
