Vina 5K, fun run athletes give it their all

Extreme heat didn’t keep dedicated runners from turning out for the Vina July Fest 5K and fun run Saturday morning.

The Vina July Fest 5K and fun run, held Saturday beginning at 7 a.m., drew out runners at all skill levels. The race was sponsored by the Vina Rescue Squad and Vina girls track and cross country program.
The race began and ended at Vina’s Franklin-Hester football field.
Runners and their times for the 5K are as follows:
William Woods (overall male): 21.49
Morgan Toomer: 22.41
Greg Lucas: 24.32
Elizabeth Baty (overall female): 24.31
Ricky Johnson: 25.18
Hunter Kennedy: 26.46
Nathan Davidson: 27.13
Chance Kennedy: 28.00

Emily Renfrow: 28.22

Wyatt Kennedy: 39.50
Emma Humphres: 29.51
Tiffany Swinney: 41.50
