Douglas Eldridge Mahan, 73, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at ECM Hospital, Florence. He was born in Franklin County to Dale and Ruble Mahan.  He was a logger and a veteran of the US Army.

Services will be Monday, July 13, at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay. Burial will be in Berry Cemetery, Red Bay.

Survivors are his sister, Jean Nichols of Hodges; his brother, James “Winkle” Mahan and wife, Betty of Belmont; five nephews; three great nieces and two great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister and a brother-in-law-Kennith Nichols.

Pallbearers will be Tim Mahan, Jeff Mahan, Kevin Nichols, Scottie Nichols, David Nichols and Jason Vinson.

Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 1-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
