Bobby Sherrel Tate, 72, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Ms. State Veterans Home in Oxford, Ms. He was born in Red Bay and attended Trinity Assembly of God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the National Guard.

Services will be Wednesday, July 8, at 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. David Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery, Red Bay.

Survivors are one son, Jay Tate and wife, Teresa, Dennis, Miss.; two daughters, Marjorie Jenean Tate, Hackleburg, and Mandy Inez Sherman and husband, Walter Hamilton; step-children, Don Higginbottom, Robert Higginbottom, Larry Higginbottom, Gary Higginbottom and Theresa McAfee; eight grandchildren – Callie, Gracie, Amber, Andrew, Caylee, Ryan, Jason and Kris; several step-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Jackson and Sylvia Carpenter and two brothers, Jimmy Tate and Gary Tate.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Tate.

Pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Wesley Miller, Bradley Duckworth, Kris Banks, Jason Banks and James Carpenter.

Visitation was Tuesday, July 7, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay,  and 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
