This year’s Franklin County Sheriff’s Rodeo will be held at the Rock Bridge Canyon Equestrian Park in Hodges, June 12-13, 7:30 p.m. each night.

The rodeo will consist of seven events: rough stock, bronc riding, saddle broncs, bull riding, calf roping, team roping, cowgirl barrel racing and cowgirl break away roping. At this year’s rodeo, attendees will enjoy seeing the rodeo clown and mechanical bull. Face painting will also be available for children and adults to take part in.

Concessions will also be available – from popcorn to cotton candy, to hamburgers, hotdogs, ribeye steak sandwiches and nachos.

The entry fee is $10 at the gates and free to any children 5 and younger. Deadline to enter and participate in the Rodeo events is June 8 before 5 p.m. Call Central Entry at 800-639-9002 to enter – if anyone doesn’t have a card, they can enter as local. The pre-rodeo salute to the veterans will happen immediately before the start of the rodeo. All children 2-12 are all invited to be in the salute and participate with the veterans as they walk out. Each child will be holding a flag in honor of each veteran who walks out.

A calf scramble for all children to enjoy will happen at halftime of the rodeo.

“The excitement of man and animal is what will make you get on your feet. Getting out with the family in a great atmosphere, anticipating on how long man can stay on bull,” said Tina Lawler, activities coordinator for Rock Bridge Equestrian Park. “It will be a night full of fun for the whole family to enjoy. We want you to come out an have a great time at this year’s rodeo.” Lawyer said.
