Carl D. Garrison, 81 of Athens, died Friday, May 29th, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services were Monday, June 1st, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Athens. Visitation was at the church. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Carla Faye Norman.

Survivors include wife Faye Dillard Garrison, son Dillard Kirk Garrison, daughter Kim Garrison Honeycutt, and five grandchildren.

Mr. Garrison was a graduate of Phil Campbell High School where he was inducted into the Franklin County Sports Hall of Fame. He graduated from Florence State Teachers College where he played football during some of its most successful periods of history. He was voted most valuable lineman, team captain and all conference his senior year.

Professionally, he has been a teacher, coach and administrator. He also had a career in the Military, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Pallbearers were Johnny Kirby, Donnie Norman, Kirk Garrison, Johnny Rogers, Kirk Garrison, and Samuel Garrison.
