Vina athletes make it to state tournament

Eight members of the Vina High School girl’s track & field squad qualified for the state track tournament over the weekend.  The Red Devils competed in the 1A, Section 4 meet at Corner High School in Dora.

Annabelle Upton finished second in the disc competition making her an automatic qualifier.

Bradley Duncan was the lone boy’s qualifier, finishing third in the long jump competition.

Other members of the girl’s squad that qualified for the state competition were the 4×800 team made up of Mary Morgan Clingan, AnnaBelle Humphres, Emily Renfrow, Elizabeth Baty; the 4×400 team made up of Mary Morgan Clingan, Emily Renfrow, Skyler Smith, Morgan Humphres; Shot put—Annabelle Upton;  Disc-Hannah Baggett;  Javelin- Hannah Baggett, AnnaBelle Upton;  Triple Jump-Skyler Smith;  1600 meter run-Emily Renfrow, Elizabeth Baty, AnnaBelle Humphres; and in the 800-meter run-Emily Renfrow, Mary Morgan Clingan.
