Junior A. Stevens, 87, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Prentiss County, Miss. and grew up on a farm, raising cotton. Junior was fourth of seven children. After the death of his first wife, Maurine Young Stevens, he was married to Icie Bates McCollum Stevens. When he first met Icie’s family, he told them he wasn’t Mr. Stevens, just plain ole junior. He owned and operated a country store about five miles northeast of Booneville, Miss. in the Tuscumbia community for many years.

Services will be Wednesday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Site Cemetery, Red Bay.

Survivors are two brothers, Brainard Stevens and Raver Gene Stevens; five step-children, Geary McCollum, David McCollum, Roger McCollum, Robert Young and Ruby Sparks and many step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Stevens and Annie Young Stevens, wives, Maurine Young Stevens and Icie Bates McCollum Stevens, two sisters, Francis Stevens and Margie Cole and two brothers, Eston Stevens and Dwain Stevens.

Pallbearers were Roger McCollum, Geary McCollum, Greg McCollum, Gavin Johnson, Michael Stevens and Kendall Stevens.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
