Single-vehicle wreck claims local man’s life

A single-vehicle crash in the early morning hours of March 7 claimed the life of a Russellville man.

Arturo R. Meneses, 18, was killed when the 2006 Toyota Camry he was driving left the roadway in a curve and proceeded to overturn.  Meneses, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.

The vehicle’s passenger was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital.  The crash occurred on County Road 48 three miles south of Russellville.  Alabama State Troopers are continuing investigation of the crash.
