David E. Ivy, 65, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at North Ms. Medical Center Hospice Unit, Tupelo, Miss. He was born in Itawamba County, Miss. and was an athletic recruiter. He was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church, Golden, Miss.

Services were Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, Golden, Miss. with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery, Golden, Miss.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Kathy Ivy, Red Bay; one son, Brad Ivy, Red Bay; daughter-in-law, Sonya Ivy, Red Bay; grandchild, Nicole Earnest; great-grandchild, Caseyn Rayburn; father and mother-in-law, J.W. and Eupal Thorne; brother-in-law, Jerry Thorne and wife, Beverly, one nephew, Heath Thorne; one niece, Amber Hill; four great-nephews; aunts and uncles, Maynard Ivy and wife, Pat, Harold Ivy and wife, Carolyn, Shelby Ivy and wife, Wilda, and Mary Ann Caveness and a host of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tulon and Lena Mae Ivy.

Pallbearers were Randy Goines, Michael Fancher, Heath Thorne, Chris Brazil, Michael Jackson and David Ward. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Thorne.

Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, Golden, Miss.
