Phil Campbell boys have tough week

 The Phil Campbell Bobcat has a rough week on the hardwoods against Winston County teams.  The Bobcats hosted Winston County High School and traveled to Haleyville.

The varsity girls posted a win against the Winston County Yellow Jackets.  The Lady Bobcats defeated Winston County 53-24.

Phil Campbell jumped out to a 20-2 first quarter lead and coasted to an easy victory.  Abby Davis led the way for the Bobcats scoring 12 points.  Others scoring in the game were Darby Elliott (8), Taylor Pace (8), Bethany Harris (6), Carley Nix (6), Leah Gunderman (5), Kaylee Ayers (4), Kelsey Bullock (2), and Chloe Roberson (2).

The varsity boys lost to the Yellow Jackets 59-45.  Winston County led 31-18 at the half and outpaced the Bobcats the rest of the way.

Hayden Bell and Peyton Thomas led Phil Campbell with 12 points each.  Others scoring for Phil Campbell were Gage Roberson (6), Noah Williams (5), Grant Masterson (4), Jacob Anthony (3), Skyler Tackett (2), and Joe Hardy (1).

Both Phil Campbell teams lost to Haleyville.  The varsity girls lost to the Lions 61-55.  Phil Campbell led Haleyville 32-28 at the half but the Lions outscored the Bobcats 33-23 in the second half to get the win.

Taylor Pace led Phil Campbell with 25 points.  Leah Gunderman added 16 points for the Bobcats.  Others scoring were Darby Elliott (4), Carley Nix (4), Abby Davis (4), and Courtney Baker (2).

The varsity boys started out strong against the Haleyville Lions but faded at the end losing 82-63.  Phil Campbell led Haleyville 17-13 at the end of the first quarter and the game was close throughout the second quarter.  Haleyville came back and led by three at the half, 36-33.  A big third quarter allowed the Lions to pull away in the contest as they outscored Phil Campbell 28-14.

Skyler Tackett led Phil Campbell with 17 points.  Peyton Thomas added 16 points for the Bobcats.  Others scoring were Noah Williams (9), Gage Roberson (9), Hayden Bell (8), and Joe Hardy (4).
