Frances Raper Eure, 70, of Lithonia, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at her residence.

Ms. Eure was a native of FranklinCounty, and retired as a librarian in the DeKalb County School System. She graduated from PhilCampbellHigh School and University of NorthAlabama with a degree in accounting. She went to graduate school at EmoryUniversity where she studied Library Science. She shared her love of reading with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Fran was a beloved family member intimately involved with the lives of her two grandchildren, Georgia and Jack.  She took each grandchild on special trips each summer for adventures which included canoeing, zip-lining, studying bridges, and riding horses.  In the month before her death, she made her first-ever trip to New York City and watched the Radio City Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular with her family. She was proud that she conquered the NYC subway system. She lived each day fully and was known to all to be an extraordinarily kind and generous person.

The memorial service will be Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville.  A time has not been set but will be available by calling Pinkard Funeral Home at (256) 332-7772.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service.

Survivors include her daughter Kathy, son-in-law Dave, and grandchildren Georgia and Jack; brothers, Terry Raper and Randy Raper; sisters-in-law, Rena Raper and Judy Raper; nieces, Pam, Michelle, Lori, Emily and Larissa; nephews, Gene, Brian, Tyson, Jaron and Carson; several great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as countless friends around the globe.

She was preceded in death by parents, Marshall and Myrtle Raper; stepmother, Beatrice Raper; and brother, Lloyd Cecil Raper.
