Eddie Nichols

November 30, 2014

Eddie Nichols, age 56, Russellville, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 during the evening service at Rockwood Baptist Church.

Eddie was first a Christian, then a loving husband, and a cool father. Love of his family was second only to that of his love for Jesus Christ. He was a deacon at RockwoodBaptistChurch and was very involved in church, especially with the children. Eddie worked for many years at VF Corporation (H.D. Lee) and was currently working at St. Gobain – Adforce in the shipping department. He was a devoted Notre Dame fan. Eddie lived his testimony all his life, setting a Christian example, never saying anything bad about anyone, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by everyone.

The visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Speaking at the service was Bro. Jerry Hester, Bro. Gerald Borden, Bro. Chris Green, and his daughter, Mary Beth. Burial followed at FranklinMemoryGardens.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Nichols; grandparents, Brock and Mary Anne Nichols, aunts, Frances Nichols, Rena Sue Whitaker; father-in-law, Gunnie Welch; and cousin, Pamela Russell.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 36 years, Helen Welch Nichols; daughters, Brandi Nichols and husband, Ray, Mary Beth Nichols; beloved fur baby, Tucker; mother-in-law, Becky Welch; special family, Sandra, Neal, Chris, Randy, and Skipper Nichols, Marshall “Popsie” and Kathy Nichols, Annie Mae and J.W. Nicholson, Karen, Steven, and Danny Nicholson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers were Chris Nichols, Skip Nichols, Randy Nichols, Phil Andrews, Joe Keeton, Doyle Taylor, Jonathan King, and Steve McGlaughn. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie’s co-workers at St. Gobain – Adforce.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the friends at RockwoodBaptistChurch, the 1st responders and the staff of the Russellville Hospital ER and the many friends and family who was at the hospital with them.
