Juanita McQuea Davis

Juanita McQuea Davis

October 1, 2014

Juanita McQuea Davis was ushered into paradise by the angels Oct. 1, 2014, now free from pain and present with our Lord.

She was born Nov. 19, 1923. Juanita was raised to become a very strong willed woman, with an unbelievable drive to achieve. All that knew her can remember that class act, down home sense of humor and a heart full of love for her family and many friends of whom she cherished every moment spent with each of them. She enjoyed traveling, and when at home, you would always find her in her immaculately, manicured lawn, cultivating beautiful flowers. She was also famous for her “Three Day Coconut Cake”, being a connoisseur in the kitchen.

Juanita retired from Firestone Corporation in Memphis, Tenn. after dedicating 37 years of service.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Cora Nita Davis; her father, Alec Davis; her brother, Gilbert Davis; a sister, Verdie Mae Dowland; her ex-husband, Louis Eubanks; nieces, Beverly Jo Mills, Wanda Kay Mills, and Charlotte Simerly.
Left to mourn and cherish her memory are, her adoring sister, Ora Ilacene Mills;  beloved nephews, Danny and Douglas Mills of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and Dalton Simerly; devoted and loving niece, Lori Mills of Richardson, Texas; loving niece, Lynn Mills Sides of Kannapolis, N.C.; great-nephews Alex and Andrew Sides, also of Kannapolis; and a special friend and loyally dedicated caregiver, Vanessa McCalpin of Red Bay,who untiringly committed herself to Juanita’s care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Oct. 9th, 2014, with fellowship beginning at 12 p.m until 2 p.m. and service immediately following. Interment of rest will be at Red Bay City Cemetery, Red Bay.
