Dennis Hugh Fowler, 73, of Athens, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Fowler was born July 7, 1941 in Franklin County, to Marvin Fowler and Alma Dye Fowler.

Services were Monday, July 28, 2014, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Lamar officiating. Visitation was Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Fowler was a member of Lebanon Community Church. He was a member of the Masons and was owner of C&F Motors of Decatur for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Alma Fowler; and sister, Vivian Jean Kent.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marion Fowler of Athens; two daughters, Denise Cox and husband, Anthony, of Decatur, and Lisa Davis and husband, Dave, of Spring Lake, N.C.; four grandsons, Alex Cox, J.R Davis, Wesley Davis and Collian Davis; sister, Sehoye Darlene Hargett of Phil Campbell; and numerous other family and friends, including his morning coffee drinking buddies.

Pallbearers were Wayne White, Billy Welborn, Lindon Terry, Anthony Cox, Alex Cox, Dave Davis, Michael Amerson, and Mike Black. Honorary pallbearer was Gene Darrell.
