Coach Richie Hester and the Belgreen High School basketball program hosted the annual girl’s basketball camp July 7-9 at Belgreen High School.

This is Coach Hester’s fourth season as head coach at Belgreen and his third year putting on the camp. He said he hopes the girl’s are able to come away from the camp each year with more knowledge of the game.

“We just try and help the girls learn the fundamentals and get better,” Hester said.

The camp is divided into two groups with an elementary age group in the mornings and the junior high and high school girls in the afternoon.

Assistant coach Bridgett Tate helps out putting on the camp with Hester along with members of the Belgreen Girl’s Varsity team.

Hester said this is his ninth camp overall that he has put on and he continues to enjoy teaching the game.

“Kids from all over the area come to this camp and it means a lot to see the girls learning the game and enjoying themselves,” Hester said.

“I’m glad I can be a part of them developing a love for the game. It is great seeing them be able to come out and have some fun while playing basketball.”
