Belgreen wins Phil Campbell Classic

After losing the first game of the day to the Phil Campbell Bobcats, the Belgreen Lady Bulldogs bounced back and won four straight games, including the final two against Phil Campbell, to win the second annual Phil Campbell Classic softball tournament this past Saturday.
The impressive tournament performance improved the Bulldogs record to 23-11 as they head into area tournament action this week at Tharptown.
“I’m proud of girls and they way they played hard and fought back,” Belgreen coach Richie Hester said.
“This gives us good momentum going into the area tournament.”
Saturday’s Phil Campbell Classic tournament featured Phil Campbell, Belgreen, Red Bay and Sulligent.
