Robert Stacy Spiller, 70, of Sharpsburg, Ga., passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Spiller was a native of Phil Campbell, but had lived in Georgia for the past 20 years.  He was retired from a career in risk management.

The visitation was Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Antioch Baptist Church, Phil Campbell.  The funeral service was Saturday, at the church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Lewis Spiller; children, Bob Spiller and wife, Nicole, Sharpsburg, Ga., Shane Spiller and wife, Angela, Bowling Green, Ky.; stepdaughters, Emily Fish, Brentwood, Tenn., and Shelley Faulkner, Vestavia; brother, Billy Spiller and wife, Christine, Muscle Shoals; sister, Jeanette Golson and husband, Tom, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; grandchildren, John and Sarah Spiller, Atlanta, Ga., Jacob and Drew Spiller, Sharpsburg, Ga., and Eric and Ashley Spiller, Bowling Green, Ky.; many loved nieces and nephews.

Mr. Spiller was preceded in death by parents, Hillard and Nettie Hale Spiller; brothers, Hollis and Stanley Spiller.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Eric Spiller, Jacob Spiller and Drew Spiller; nephews, Jimmy Pierce and Brad Tipper; brother-in-law, Danny Lewis; and sons-in-law, Stan Faulkner and Jim Fish.

Stacy is remembered as a patient, kind man who loved Alabama football and sports.  He enjoyed coaching and watching sports with his children and grandchildren.  He taught himself to play the piano as a boy and spent many hours entertaining his family.  He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed.
