Jean Hester, 88, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at The Meadows, Fulton, Miss. She was born Oct. 16, 1925 in Alabama and was a homemaker. She was a member of Atwood Baptist Church.
Services were Jan. 7, at Atwood Baptist Church, Vina, with Bro. Nathan Davidson officiating. Burial was in Atwood Cemetery, Vina.
Survivors are two daughters, Myra Collum and husband, Mickey, and Rhonda Hellums, all of Vina; two sons, Alton Hester and wife, Donna, and Randy Hester and wife, Delores, all of Vina; eight grandchildren, Brittney Humphres and husband, Ethan, Aftan Kelly and husband, Robert, Clayton Hellums and wife, Melanie, Haley Scott and husband, Brandon, Russ Hester, Kacey Johnston and husband, Hugh, Matthew Hester and Andrew Hester; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Ian Williams, Mallie Hellums, Lila Kate Hellums, Cayson Johnston, Talon Johnston and Myka Humphres; three sisters-in-law, Dottie Mobley, Eloise Mobley and Florence Mobley and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Hester, parents, Sterling Mobley and Luttie Peck Mobley, four sisters and six brothers.
Pallbearers were Russ Hester, Clayton Hellums, Matthew Hester, Andrew Hester, Ethan Humphres, Hugh Johnston, Robert Kelly and Brandon Scott.
Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Atwood Baptist Church.
