Glenda M. Blaxton, 80, of Tuscumbia, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at her residence.
Mrs. Blaxton was a native of Arkansas but had lived most of her life in this area. She was a member of North Highland Church of Christ, Russellville, and was retired as a heavy equipment operator at Reynolds Alloys.
The funeral service was Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens. Jack Henson and Charles Frederick officiated the service.
Survivors include son, Gerald R. Bryant and wife, Kathy, Phil Campbell; daughters, Vickie K. Hovater and husband, Donnie, Russellville, and Jo James, Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Jen Bryant and Matt Ginter, Aaron Bryant and wife, Carrie, Eric Harrelson and wife, Marnie, Terry Harrelson, and wife, Mary, Dondi James and wife, Joni, Amy James Scott and husband, Brent; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Emily and Carly Harrelson, Caleb and Dylan Bryant, Paylen Elizabeth Scott; two nieces and one nephew.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Aaron Bryant, Eric Harrelson, Dondi James, Terry Harrelson, Brent Scott, and Matt Ginter.
Honorary bearers were Steve Scott, Philip Brown, and Charles Frederick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Shellie Vaughn Barber; brother, Bobby Gene Barber; sister, Letha Harris.
She will always be remembered for her wit and generosity. One had to be careful to not admire a possession of hers overly much, lest she do her best to give it to you.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Lynn Ridgeway, the therapists with Gentiva Home Health and the caregivers from Gentiva Hospice.
