Novia Grissom, 91, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013.
Novia Grissom, a retired waitress for 30 years, last employed at Riviera Country Club in Ormond Beach, Fla., passed away at Cornerstone Hospice in the Villages.
Mrs. Grissom was born in Hodges on March 11, 1922. The family moved to Florida in 1958. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Grissom, who passed away Dec. 17, 1990.
She is survived by three children, Hoyt Grissom and wife, Barbara, of Alabama; Peggy Harwood, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and Frankie Prugh and husband, Mike, of Fruitland Park, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jeff Grissom, of Navarre, Fla., Ric Harwood, of Ocoee, Fla., Shanda Prugh, of Fruitland Park, Fla.; and three great grandchildren. Services were held at Dale Woodward Funeral home on Dec. 23, 2013, with Rev. Kevin Mahoney officiating.
