Jo Ann Rickard, known as NeMo, Mammaw, Mother and wife, age 72 passed from this life Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, in Huntsville. She was born in Franklin County, to Leon and Velma Nelson.  She was raised in Belgreen attending school in Russellville and graduating at Deshler High School.  She married John Rickard Oct. 13, 1961.  They celebrated 52 years together and she was his “rock”.  She lived in Harvest, for the past 27 years.  Jo Ann was a Christian and attended Harvest Church of Christ.

Mrs. Rickard is survived by her beloved husband, John; children, Donna Ross and husband, Don, from Russellville, and Connie Scott from Decatur; grandchildren, Jake Uptain, Chase and Nicholas Ross, Britney Speegle and Whitney Scott; five great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Johnson of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, Leon and Velma Nelson and brothers, Gayle, Jack and Donald Wayne Nelson.

The visitation was Thursday, Nov. 21 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville.  Funeral service was Friday, at the funeral home with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were Nicholas Ross, Jared Laxson, Jake Uptain, Jonathan Speegle, Alan Rickard, Jimmy Johnson, David Rickard, Chase Ross and Steve Johnson.
