Columbus B. “Coon” Cummings

Columbus B. “Coon” Cummings, 98, of Phil Campbell, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26,  2013, at his residence.

Mr. Cummings was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, a member and deacon of Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church and a retired farmer.

The funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell.  Officiating was Mickey Cummings.

Survivors include son, Paul Cummings and wife, Shirley; daughter-in-law, June Cummings; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Laura Cummings; wife, Glenna Mae Hyde Cummings; son, Bud Cummings; grandchildren, Darron and Donna Cummings.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Shoals.
