Horace Glen Strickland, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center.

He was born June 4, 1935, in Alabama and was a salesman for Sunshine Dog Food. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Red Bay, and a veteran of the U.S. Marines.

Services were Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Bill Harper, Bro. Ray Hoggard and Bro. Ronnie Stevens officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Jessie Strickland, Red Bay; two daughters, Valerie Morrow and husband, Chris, and Carol Reynolds and husband, David, all of Red Bay; five grandchildren, Dana Robinson and husband, Joey, Paige Thorne and husband, Trenton, Cody Reynolds, Tyler Reynolds and McCayla Finley; four great-grandchildren, Tanner, Talli, Keiley and Peyton; two brothers, Norris Strickland and Delbert Strickland and one sister, Shirley Draddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Flora Strickland and one sister, Nell Odell.

Pallbearers were Cody Reynolds, Trenton Thorne, Joey Robinson, John Morrow, Howard Morrow and Robert Strickland. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Williams and Vance Stevens.
