Edna Mildred Mathewus, 87, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Alabama and was a beautician. She was a member of Pentecostal Faith Church.

Services were Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Jimmy Massey officiating. Burial was in Baggett Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are one sister, Pernie Cavender, Haleyville; special sister-in-law, Mae Baggett, Red Bay; three nephews, Randy Baggett and Chris Baggett and wife, Laura, all of Red Bay,  and Arthur Baggett and wife, Wanda, of Michigan; great-nieces and nephews, Adam and Anna Baggett, Red Bay, Jason Baggett and wife, Susan, of Michigan, Becky Nibert and husband, Russell, Adrian, Mich., and Randi-Le Umfress and husband, Tim, Vina, and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Mathewus, her parents, Austin and Sarah Baggett, three sisters, Madge Humphres, Pauline Horton and Hazel Horton and one brother, Elvin Baggett.

Pallbearers were Randy Baggett, Arthur Baggett, Chris Baggett, Adam Baggett, Jason Baggett and James Horton. Honorary pallbearers were nieces and nephews.
