Doyal Arron Bonds, 88, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay since 1947 and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a musician, building contractor, pilot and Rural letter carrier.

Services were Monday, May 21, 2012, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel. A friend of the family, Bro. Dale Carr, officiated. Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife of 69 years, Louise Rogers Bonds, of Red Bay; one daughter, Martha Bonds, of Red Bay; one son, Thomas Aaron Bonds (Dale) of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Marc McCarthy (Berry) of Arlington, Va., Leigh Aaron Wade (Will) of Starkville, Miss., and Logan Bonds (fiancé-Burks McCullough) of Tupelo; three great grandchildren, Thomas Aaron Wade, Taylor Olyn Wade and Kennedy Corinne Wade; brother-in-law, Norris Rogers (Carol Ann) of Red Bay; two sisters-in-law, Hildred Phillips of Red Bay and Betty Bonds of Muscle Shoals; one niece, Krista Thomas (Paul) of Corpus Christi, Texas; three great nephews, Andrew, Preston and Jack Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie D. and Artie Gray Bonds; two brothers, H. Alton Bonds and William F. Bonds and a brother-in-law-Haskle Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren and his Sunday School class at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to His Hands and Feet Ministry, c/o First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 616, Red Bay, AL 35582.
