Freelon A.M. Burnell, 81, Phil Campbell, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Gail Burnell; children, Deborah Batey, Brenda Kiel, both of Russellville, Kevin Burnell, of Phil Campbell; four grandchildren, Nicole Batey, Madison Grace McKinney, Kimberly Faith McKinney, Raeanna Mae McKinney; one great-grandson, Aiden Drake Fuller; brother, Charles Burnell and wife, JoAnn, of Hackleburg; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex McKinley and Maggie Burnell; and sister, Barbara Burnell.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jennifer at Hospice Care of Russellville; and Michelle at Hospice Care of Florence, for the love and care shown to our family.
