Donald Chester Pounders, 64, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with muscular dystrophy.

He was a native of Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Jeanette Pounders.

He is survived by two brothers, Herb Pounders and his wife, Virginia, and Tim Pounders; two sisters, Kaye Maza and her husband, Dave, and Dale Dahlkamp and husbandd, Michael, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Don died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sycamore, Ill., on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, and he will be laid to rest in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Russellville.
