Child dies in morning house fire

A three-year old little girl died in an early Friday morning house fire in Tharptown.

Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said Diamond Lakayla Smith died in the blaze, which was reported at 2:26 a.m. She was carried from the home at 250 Tharp Springs Road and was pronounced dead an hour later at Russellville Hospital.
