Couple arrested on meth charges
Two Franklin County residents were arrested on Friday after officers received complaints that someone was manufacturing methamphetamine in a local subdivision.
Nicholas Alexander, 27, of Russellville was charged with first-degree attempted manufacturing of methamphetamine, drug trafficking and two counts of chemical endangerment of a child.
Brittany Alexander, 26, of Russellville, was charged with two counts of chemical endangerment of a child.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver, deputies responded to a complaint that there was a possible meth lab located behind one of the residences in the Franklin Estates subdivision.
When officers arrived, Oliver said the suspects in question had left the residence and had taken the meth lab with them, but one suspect stayed behind with two children who were present in the home.
Oliver said after deputies found several items of drug paraphernalia during a preliminary search, investigators were called to the scene and made the arrests based on the statements from the complainants.
Brittany Alexander remains in custody at the Franklin County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Nicholas Alexander is being held in custody on a bond violation from a previous drug charge.
