If the Red Bay varsity girls had any trouble claiming the Class 2A, Area 12 Tournament title, those troubles were not noticed by the fans.

The Lady Tigers opened the tournament with a solid effort on both ends of the court as they downed county rival Phil Campbell 76-25. One night later they concluded their dominating performance with a 62-22 win against Lamar County to claim the area championship.

“The girls had two nights where they couldn’t do anything wrong,” Red Bay coach Donnie Roberts said. “They shot well and played great defense.”

The Lady Tigers had 13 different players score against Phil Campbell. Whitney Sharp led the way with 20 points while Hannah Sharp added 10 points.

Ciara Harville led the Lady Bobcats with 10 points. Also scoring for Phil Campbell were Hope Cook (5), Taylor Scott (4), Vickie McAllister (2), Whitley Yocom (2) and Sarah Hilliard (2).
