LaRue V. Franks passed from this life Saturday, January 15, 2011 at her home ending a six year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born November 14, 1923 to Grover and Hester Taylor in Franklin County, Ala. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Russellville.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Johnny Richardson officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Hester Taylor; two sisters, Wilma Hester and Madrue Skidmore; and one brother, Edward Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas A. Franks, Jr.; two sons, Michael D. Franks and wife, Robin, and Carl E. Franks; granddaughter, Samantha; two sisters, Evelton Thorn and Zulene Wood; and one brother, Vernon Taylor.
Pallbearers were Ronald Wood, Mark Wood, Nicholas Woods, Clay Woods, Norris Duncan and Timmy Williams.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Brad McAnally, Mark Smith, Hospice and a host of friends, especially the two ladies who worked with us during the last year of her illness. We appreciate the food, visits, and kind words over the last six years.
