Local school takes time to recognize former employees

Teachers can be some of the most influential people in our lives, and most of us have at least one teacher we remember fondly.

Those teachers eventually retire and slip from our minds. One local school has not forgotten these teachers.

Russellville Elementary School hosts a retired teachers luncheon for its former employees as well as the retired employees of College Avenue Elementary.

This luncheon not only allows these teachers an opportunity to visit with former coworkers, but also shows that their years of service to the children of this community is still appreciated.

Teachers sacrifice much of their time to help assure our children are prepared to enter society with the knowledge and tools to succeed. When they retire they tend to escape our thoughts.

Thankfully there are those out there who remember those teachers and still offer the recognition they deserve.
