Howard Cawthon Grant, 88, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at Terrace Manor Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Grant was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Russellville First Baptist Church.  He was retired from Reynolds Metals Company and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens.  Officiating was Barry Holcomb and Clint Busler. 

He is survived by his son, Howard Lee Grant and wife, Sarah Ann, of Guntersville, Ala.; sister, Dot Atkins, of Russellville, Ala.; grandchildren, Kirby Rutland and husband, Mike and Kendrah Raney and husband, Jim; great-grandchildren, Mikey Rutland and Grant Rutland; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Pickett Grant; daughter, Jane Grant; parents, Daniel Lee Grant and Mary McCulloch Grant; brother, Daniel Lee Grant, Jr.; sisters, Alice Harrison, Louise Whitfield, Sue Williams, Mary Grant and Mable Weatherford.

Pallbearers were Hank Thompson, Sammy Taylor, Freed Baker, Arron Burleson, Calvin Parmer, Mikey Rutland, Grant Rutland, and Mike Rutland.

Honorary bearers will be T.R. Pritchard Sunday school class.
