Man accused of stealing from employer
A Russellville man was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing money from his employer.
Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said Kevin Wayne Williams, 23, of 1439 Clay Ave., Russellville, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree theft of property Tuesday.
Williams, who worked at the Russellville Taco Bell location, is accused of entering the building early Tuesday morning and stealing from the store’s cash register.
Investigators said Williams helped close the store Monday night, but he left the front door unlocked. When the other employees left the scene, Williams is accused of re-entering the building and taking all of the money in the register.
When the store manager arrived Tuesday morning, she noticed that the tapes on the register ran at 1:49 a.m., which is after the store closed from the Monday evening shift.
Authorities arrested Williams about 10:30 a.m. that day.
He has since been released on bail totaling $4,000.
