Hall looking at big future

Young singers are flooding the entertainment business, especially in the singing section and doing it successfully.
Stars like Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez have all made names for themselves as prominent recording artists.
Russellville’s own aspiring gospel/country artist Brooklyn Hall hopes to do the same.
The 12-year-old vocally talented Hall has performed in many venues, appeared on local television shows, made it big on the internet collecting 1,149 hits from all over the world on Youtube.com and has released a demo C.D., which was recorded at Flint Studios in Decatur.
Hall said this is something she really enjoys and wants to one-day make a career out of singing.
Michael Jennings of Nashville Spotlight and Sweet Southern Entertainment got word of Hall’s talent and decided to take her under his wing and try to promote her throughout Nashville, Tenn. Hall’s latest performance took place Nashville’s World Famous Wildhorse Saloon on Feb. 20-21 in the Southeastern Singing Showcase. She has performed in showcases along side Aaron Kelly, who is currently running in the top 20 in the American Idol competition.
Acts that have played at the Wildhorse Saloon such as Ricochet, Sons of the Desert, Lonestar, Shane Stockton, Jason Jones, and Trick Pony have all called the Wildhorse Saloon home and all signed with Nashville labels.
Country group Rascal Flatts took the same stage Monday night that Hall performed on during the day the previous weekend. Hall said her biggest inspirations for pursuing a career in singing are Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood.
Hall’s mother, Ann, said all of her daughter’s performances have been by invitation. She said she will support her daughter as long as it is something she wants to do.
Even though Hall is a talented singer, being young and wanting to multi-task has kept her busy.
Hall attends the seventh grade at Russellville Middle School and also enjoys cheerleading, along with being a member of the RMS Show Choir where she has excelled to the All-State level. She is also taking guitar lessons and hopes to one day incorporate that into her performances.
Invitations have been piling in, requesting Hall’s appearances to perform. SSE’s Linda Davis, who is the mother of the lead female singer for Lady Antebellum, has requested Hall to sing and perform at Fan Fest Week in Nashville.
The very latest invitation for the 12 year-old potential star comes all the way from Burbank, Calif.
Bessie Sorge, editor of Hollywood Teen’zine has invited Hall to the CMA Music Festival in June. Sorge writes to Hall’s parents, “I will be in Nashville this year for the CMA Music Festival in June and would absolutely love to meet with you and Brooklyn. Will you be in town during the festival? We would love to get video footage of Brooklyn possibly taking us around to the places she has performed in downtown Nashville, and obtain clips of her talking about her music and inspirations. If time permits, we would love to have her perform a song for us.”
Hall has been singing since she was eight and hopes her success will continue as she grows and matures. Hall’s next scheduled appearances will be April 10 at the Roxy with the KGB band, where it will be her first time to perform with a live band and May 22 at Tiffin Motor Homes’ annual picnic at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Tuscumbia.
