Thomas Ronald Doyle, 77, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Wayne Boyles officiating. Burial was at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
He was preceded in death b his wife, Syble Rachel Doyle; and parents, Thomas and Mildred Doyle.
He is survived by his children, Debra Sheffield Colburn, Patty and Danny Andrews, Coleen Ergle, Kassy Franks, and John and Ruby Sheffield; grandchildren, Zach Andrews, Jessica McBrayer, Kelly Ergle, Julie Ergle, Bryan Franks, Julie Franks, Chad Michael Sheffield, Lesley Sheffield, Chadwick and Kristen Miller, John Mark Sheffield; great-grandchild, Chloe Sheffield; brothers, Richard Doyle, Harry Doyle and Jimmy Doyle; sisters, Margie Teal, Peggy Bennett, Patty Kemp, Debbie Doyle and Faith Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 608. He was a naval veteran of the Korean War. He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Kenneth E. Marsh, Sr. 79, of Russellville passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at Huntsville Hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at Crooked Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Hershel Quinn, Bro. Michael Jenkins and Bro. James McCullar officiating. Interment was in Crooked Oak Cemetery. Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Annie Elizabeth Marsh; brothers, James Willis Marsh and Leonard Capps; and infant daughter, Deborah Sue Marsh.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Martha Sue Marsh; children, Elizabeth Kay Marsh, Janice Lynn Duey and husband, Al, Nina Ann Marsh Hacker and husband, Damon, Clifford Marsh, Dennis Marsh and wife, Audrey, and Kenneth E. Marsh, Jr. and wife, Lisa; sister, Catherine Marsh Westfall; brother, Charles Lee Marsh and wife, Mary; sister-in-law, Jean Capps; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Crooked Oak Baptist Church.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Jack McLendon and Dr. Gerald Crawford; all the ICU nursing staff at Helen Keller Hospital for their kindness and diligent care given to Mr. Marsh during his illness.
James Franklin “Jimmie” Huggins

James Franklin “Jimmie” Huggins, 85, of Haleyville passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at Lakeland Community Hospital.
He was a member of Sunny Home Baptist Church, a retired school bus driver and a farmer. Jimmie and his wife, Dorsie were married for over 60 years and are remembered for the many children that they baby sat for over 30 years.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Kirk Cagle officiating. Burial was in Sunny Home Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Dorsie Huggins; son, Charles Huggins and wife, Joan; sister, Inez Cagle and husband, James; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends and all the children they baby sat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Myrtle Huggins; brothers, Albert, Junior and Dexter Earl Huggins; sisters, Savilla Johnson Baldy and Ermer Lee Whitlock.
Orvil Strickland

Orvil Strickland, 79, of Vina passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at his home after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 21, 1930 in Franklin County to Bose Pulaski and Molcie Lou King Strickland. He was a retired farmer after 25 years, a carpenter and member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at 3 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Isaacs and Bro. Greg Philamlee officiating. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Earlene Strickland, of Vina; two sons, Jeffery Strickland and wife, Kay, of McKinney, Texas and Stewart Strickland and wife, Teresa, of Vina; two daughters, Regina Dobbins and husband, Kenneth, of Kingston Spring, Tenn. and Camilla Strickland, of Vina; three sisters, Nettie Armstrong, of Tuscumbia, Hettie Pendegraph, of Fulton, Miss and Una Mae Armstrong, of Vina; one brother, James Strickland and wife, Bonnie, of Vina; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Walson Strickland, Clint Strickland, Harvey Strickland and Morris Strickland; and two sisters, Pearl Morrow and Norvil Lindley.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Fennel, John Fennel, Andrew Strickland, Sam Strickland, Randall Armstrong and Terry Strickland.

Charles Lee Welch, 62, of Belgreen passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Paul Cummings officiating. Interment will be in Belgreen Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jr. and Retha Welch; and brother, James “Scope” Welch.
He is survived by his wife, Linday Welch; children, Chris Welch, Tina Beasley, Dustin Welch and wife, Meegan; grandchildren, Laken Beasley, Chandler Welch, Mackenzie Scott, Mia Gardner, Madden Welch and Isabella Welch; two brothers, David Welch and Urcil Welch; five sisters, Shirley Hargett, Margaret Sumeral and husband Edward, Dorothy Batchelor and husband, Ricky, Maylene McDowell and husband, Mike, and Kathy Blanton and husband, Kenneth; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Brandon Oliver, Shannon Oliver, Jason Oliver, Bryan Rogers, Kevin Hargett, Darrel Sumeral, Lee Sumeral and Dennis Welch.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, Sarah and Deidre and Dr. Cole on ECM 3rd floor, as well as Vicki Pounders for the love and care shown towards our family.
