County looking for refund from state

The Franklin County Commission voted Tuesday to enter into a contract with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences which should lead to the county being reimbursed for autopsies required over the last couple of years.
Due to state budget cuts in recent years, counties have been responsible for transporting bodies to state labs when autopsies have been needed.
Probate Judge Barry Moore said 16 bodies have been transported from Franklin County to state labs since October 2007.
The contract will allow the county to receive some of those funds back.
