The first baby born in 2010 in northwest Alabama was delivered at 2:14 a.m. Jan. 1 at Russellville Hospital. Though not due for a few more days, Rynah LeeAnn West, could wait no more. Her parents, Roger and Emily West, of Mount Hope, welcomed the nine pound, five ounce baby girl shortly after the new year began. Pictured above are baby Rynah, with her mother, Emily West, and registered nurses Tula Swinney, Tracy Reed, Jamie Norris, Kathy Boyett and Dr. Eduardo Santiago. Registered nurses Michelle Grant and Christie McAfee were the delivery nurses. The Wests were presented with a gift basket provided by several local businesses, including: Russellville Hospital, The Blossom Shop, Akins Floral Company, Audrey’s Gifts, Bank Independent, CB&S Bank, Community Spirit Bank, First Metro Bank, Thorn’s Florist, The Lily Pad and Peeble’s.
