Roxy concert series kicks off Jan. 9

The Franklin County Arts and Humanities (FCAH) council is putting together a yearlong concert series for the upcoming year.
The concert series will feature the Kerry Gilbert Band along with a special guest that is chosen from some of the North Alabama’s finest musical talents. The event will be titled “Rockin at the Roxy with the KGB” with proceeds going towards the preservation and renovation of Russellville’s historic Roxy Theater.
The first show is scheduled for Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. featuring artists Garrett and Briana Dean of Decatur, Ala. FCAH council member Wanda Myrick said the Roxy has been hosting events like this periodically for years.
FCAH council member Bob Stickley said the KGB is one of the best groups around. “If you haven’t heard the KGB, you owe it to yourself and family to attend one of their up and coming concerts,” he said. “Come set in for a great night of music, some modern and some gospel. A little something for everybody’s taste.”
Concerts will be held on the second Saturday of each month. Tickets for the show will be $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12 and free for ages 6 and under. They are available at the door the night of the concert and may be purchased from FCAH council members as well.
