Crews have been working to replace hangars at the Russellville Airport, which should allow the facility’s managers to accommodate more and larger aircraft.
In recent years, the airport has undergone extensive renovations ranging from an expansion of the runway to the addition of jet fuel and a nice, modern terminal building.
The facility is as nice as any in a town of comparable size.
With a broader attention and effort being made to industrial recruitment, the airport is now a recruiting tool.
Airport director Harry Mattox and the airport authority, including chairman Bill Pugh, as well as the current and past city council, should be commended for their efforts in providing a first-class facility.
