RED BAY- Quinn’s Ranch plans to kick off their 6th annual Deer Hunting Classic on Saturday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m.
The competition is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the boy’s home. Big black pots of homemade chili and pots of hot stew will be on hand to warm up everyone that is involved with the tournament.
Quinn’s Ranch director Shea Lowery said it is just a fun time for everyone. “Hundreds of people come out for this event every year,” she said. “It’s just a great atmosphere for families, people bring their kids, it’s just a wonderful time for fellowship.”
The tournament is just a one-day deer hunt. Hunters will have until 8:30 p.m to weigh in their deer at Elliott’s Branch pavilion. Awards will be given out for the biggest buck, doe and best combo of the competition.
This year Quinn’s Ranch has added a $1,000 grand prize drawing for all ticket holders.
The fundraiser is one way for the home to receive funding.
Long Lewis Ford-Lincoln-Mercury of the Shoals, Shoals Outdoor Sports, Dependable True Value in Red Bay, Dependable Sporting Center in Russellville, CJ’s Grocery and Swamp Johns are the sponsors for the event.
Tickets for the hunt are $50 and may be picked up at each of these locations. For more information contact Quinn’s Ranch at 356-8900.
