RMS presents “Nutcracker”

Christmas is on its way and Russellville Middle School has decided to kick off the festivities with a production of “The Nutcracker.”
Rehearsals have begun after school and on Saturdays to enhance performances scheduled for Dec. 14 and 15 at the RHS auditorium. RMS drama teacher Patrice Smith said the kids are excited and hope to impress.
Eighth grader Nicole Crittenden will be playing the role of the little girl named Marie and seventh grader James Durrett takes on the role of the nutcracker.
Smith said in the past this sort of thing just didn’t happen.
The RMS drama groups have already performed three shows this year and plan on doing many more in the future.
This performance will include a type of musical atmosphere for audiences to enjoy.
RMS chorus teacher Emily Rush said the programs make a difference to some children.
The performance of “The Nutcracker” is set to begin at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door.
A dinner theater has also been set for 5 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the RMS cafeteria. Tickets for this event are $5. For more information on RMS drama call 331-2120.
