Local artist produces CDs

After 38 years out of the business, Buford Parker has stepped back into the music scene.
Parker said his musical passion began at 8 years old when he started strumming a guitar, then again at 12 when he performed on T.V. for the first time.
Parker began composing music strictly as a hobby, but in 2006 he really began to feel like he wanted to make a career out of it. Since then Parker has recorded three classical country CDs plus one bluegrass CD.
Parker also became an accomplished publisher in 1991 when the first issue of “The Source” magazine was produced.
Parker records his own and other songs at a locally owned studio in Russellville. Parker has paid royalties and received permits to record such songs as “Mansion on the Hill” made famous by the late Hank Williams Sr. and “Crazy Arms” by Ray Price. Parker said his music and publication has helped him to be able to meet the legendary country singer Ray Price and others such as Kayton Roberts and David Redford. Roberts was known for his ability to play the steel guitar for the famous Hank Snow. Redford is an imitator who sounds just like the late Hank Snow.
On his latest album, “What has come over me” Parker switches styles from classical country to bluegrass.
Parker’s music can be found and purchased at CDbaby.com and also at sourcepub.net.
